Hapkido (합기도), the art of concentrated power, is a Korean martial art and a form of self-defense that emphasises on circular motion, redirection of force, and control of the opponent. By employing techniques such as joint locking, grappling, throwing and striking attacks, Hapkido allows practitioners to engage in both long and close-range fighting.
Hapkido was first introduced to Singapore in 2014 by the World Hapkido Martial Arts Federation (WHMAF). Since its formation, Hapkido Singapore has been working with WHMAF to promote the art of Hapkido.
Hapkido Singapore aims to equip the youths of today with a set of self-defence skills, utilising techniques that allow both long and close range fighting, ultimately learning to protect themselves and improve their physical fitness and agility.
